Ernie's Lunch
Written and Photographed by Nancy Clover
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it can be very spooky at Ernie's!
Ernie’s Lunch always puts on a good show for Halloween – this year is a pirate theme.
The food is excellent, and it is an old-style hole-in-the-wall eatery on Franklin Street that has been around since World War II.
Very local spot – great place to catch up on Melrose gossip. Pam is friendly and delightful to speak with. Jarod is too busy grilling up amazing food to be much of a chatter. They are so kind to their elderly patrons and serve free Thanksgiving meals to an elderly complex.
Today just eggs over easy but we have happily consumed omelets, homemade turkey meatball soup, the turkey gobbler with amazing stuffing. My husband said the cheeseburger club was the best he has had.
If you feel like a good cup of joe, great food, excellent conversation, all for an extremely reasonable price – Ernie’s is your place to go!
Don’t forget to tip or they will make you walk the plank!!!!
