Giacomo's Ristorante

We all have had the experience of an off day at a restaurant. Never at Giacomo’s on Main St, Melrose.
Dining in or take out, they have consistent, outstanding food, drinks, and service. Giacomo’s is one of our top, go-to restaurants.
Their chopped salad is substantial – we take home half, and it is still fresh the next day. They have the best chicken parm – I am fussy about my red sauce and Giacomo’s sauce is amazing, not too acidic. The penne with chicken and shrimp has the best pesto cream sauce with plenty of garlic. Their chicken piccata is cooked perfectly. The portions are generous, so you always have left overs for the next day.
They have an incredible family take out meal special on Monday and Tuesdays – salad, garlic bread and a choice of 5 entrees. Feeds 4 for $50!
Fast, attentive, and friendly service is their motto. As soon as you sit down bread is placed on the table. Superb drinks are offered quickly while you peruse the menu. You never feel rushed, just well cared for.
The atmosphere is cozy, tables are close together. On the weekends it is crowded – reservations recommended but they are open 7 days a week for dinner. When it is busy the restaurant can be a little noisy, so we opt to go during the week. Plenty of free parking in the back.
Giacomo’s in Boston has been named one of the top 20 best Italian restaurants in the country – I would argue that the Melrose location is just as good.
