If you are looking for a great guitar instructor may I recommend Steve Pina from the Music Shop on West Emerson Street in Melrose.
My husband has been taking guitar lessons with Steve for about 4 months. Steve is patient, easy-going, attentive, and knowledgeable. He believes in no short cuts – he wants you to learn to play the right way. Steve customizes the lessons so you study the songs you are interested in. Paul is pleased with the progress he is making and he highly recommends the Music Shop.
Steve, a Melrose resident, has owned the shop since 2007 but there has been music playing there since 1997. The Music Shop specialize in private lessons for guitar, piano, bass, drums, violin, mandolin and ukulele as well as voice and singing lessons. Lessons are available for beginners to more advanced ability levels and all music genres: rock, jazz, country, R & B, pop, and more.

The retail store has gear and a wide variety of new and previously owned instruments and amps in stock as well as special orders. The Music Shop also repairs instruments.
