Sally Frank and the Melrose Farmers’ Market

Thank You, Sally Frank – The Visionary Behind Our Farmers’ Market!
Did you know the vibrant, bustling Sally Frank’s Farmers’ Market all started with a craving for fresh corn?
31 years ago, Melrose resident Sally Frank had had enough of driving out of town for good produce. So, she decided to bring the farm to Melrose — and just like that, our beloved farmers’ market was born! The first one was modest. Just five vendors tucked behind City Hall. Small but mighty.
Fast forward to 2005, and the city officially renamed it the Sally Frank’s Farmers’ Market — a tribute to Sally’s big vision and even bigger heart. From the start, she believed the market should nourish everyone, so she made sure surplus food went to those in need. That mission lives on today through The Food Drive, which distributes extra produce and goods from each market.
The market is a living legacy to Sally Frank and has grown into a joyful, community-centered tradition that Melrosians eagerly await.
Here's what you’ll find:
- Every Thursday, June–October, 1–6 PM at Bowden Park (just steps from Cedar Park station).
- Winter market at Memorial Hall.
- Fresh produce, meats, seafood, eggs, flowers, honey, oil, baked goods, fresh bread, crepes, ready-to-eat meals, local artists, live music, family fun, and so much more.
- SNAP accepted and matched, because good food should be for everyone.
- Annual Urban Garden Tour.
The Sally Frank’s Farmers’ Market isn’t just about food — it’s about community. It’s where neighbors connect, kids dance to local tunes, and your dinner ingredients are sold by the people who grew them.
Thank you, Sally, for planting the seed that continues to grow year after year.
Here's to local flavor, big heart, and 31 years of bringing Melrose together!
See you at the market on Thursday!!!!
