To Be or Not To Be... Organized?

Kathy Vines of Clever Girl Organizing
Is it better to spend your time searching for things or to be organized?
When we downsized from our large home in Methuen to a small condo in Melrose, we faced tough decisions: what to keep, donate, recycle, offer on Buy Nothing, or throw away. After 30 years in the house where our kids grew up — and where my parents lived when they could no longer care for themselves — the process was emotionally exhausting. So many items held sentimental value or had simply cost too much to just give away.
If only I had known there was professional help available.
Melrose is fortunate to have two outstanding professional organizers, each with their specialty. You don’t need to be moving or doing a full-house purge to benefit from these amazing women.
Clever Girl Organizing
Kathy Vines, owner of Clever Girl Organizing, is a Certified Professional Organizer and coach. Kathy helps clients declutter and simplify their homes and offices, offering both in-person and virtual services. She understands how life gets tangled with clutter—whether it’s books, clothes, papers, photos, or memorabilia—and she guides you through the process of letting go.
A unique focus of Kathy’s practice is working with individuals with ADHD, helping them create systems that work for them.
Kathy is also a leader in the organizing field: she’s a frequent speaker at professional conferences, hosts a podcast, and is the author of Living With Less.
Each January, she runs the Clever Girl Challenge, an 11-week virtual decluttering program designed to help participants refresh their homes (and lives) by spring.

Kate Roberts of Bee Organized
Bee Organized Boston North Suburbs
Kate Roberts owns the local franchise of Bee Organized. Kate and her team offer a free, no-pressure consultation and are known for their compassionate, judgment-free approach. Their philosophy: clutter is not just about stuff—it’s about your relationship with it.
Kate’s advice is simple but powerful:
"You gotta purge! You can’t keep your home in order if you’re holding on to things that no longer serve you. Everything needs a home — if it doesn’t have a place, it becomes clutter."
Bee Organized specializes in move management, assisting with decluttering, packing, unpacking, and even home staging to help sell your house faster. They don’t just organize your space—they help you create sustainable habits to keep it that way.
Clearing out physical clutter makes a huge difference in clearing out mental clutter. The good news? You don’t have to do it alone. If you are ready to reclaim your space (and your sanity)! Whether you're downsizing, decluttering, or just tired of the chaos — Clever Girl Organizing and Bee Organized Boston North Suburbs have you covered.
