Pride Flag Raised At City Hall
Written and Photographed By Nancy Clover
The Pride Flag was raised at Melrose City Hall on Monday as residents gathered to celebrate inclusion, acceptance, and the diversity that makes our community stronger.
Mayor Jen Grigoraitis, City Council President Brad Freeman, and Lieutenant Krystal Cavanagh of the Melrose Fire Department shared remarks recognizing the importance of creating a community where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and respected.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the ceremony came when two children helped raise the Pride Flag above City Hall. As the flag rose, community members looked on, showing their support and celebrating Pride Month in Melrose.
Events like this remind us that a strong community is built on kindness, understanding, and the belief that everyone belongs.
Thank you to all who attended and helped make the ceremony a meaningful start to Pride Month.
