Melrose Art Festival Shows Off Local Talent
Melrose Arts presented their 17th annual Art Festival at Memorial Hall this weekend, showcasing a huge range of local artists working in a variety of media.
The artists who displayed their work at the festival included painters working in traditional oils and watercolors; a painter who works on salvaged wood; a mosaic artist; collage artists; jewelry makers; glass makers; woodworkers; fabric artists and quilters; potters; and found-object sculptors. Subject matter included natural scenes, wildlife, local landmarks, and abstract figures.
In addition to the visual art on display, musicians performed on the stage, and there was face painting, caricature painting, and an activity for kids run by Follow Your Art. Vistors could also enjoy food trucks outside the hall.
