Summer Stroll Returns to Main Street
On Friday, the Melrose Chamber of Commerce and several local businesses will host the 11th Annual Summer Stroll on Main Street. Originally an adult-focused evening, now the Summer Stroll welcomes all ages to dine out, enjoy live music, and have some Olympics-themed fun.
From 6-9 pm, rain or shine, Main Street will be closed to vehicles between Upham and Grove Streets. Several tents will be set up for entertainment. Visitors can get a “passport” and visit eight participating businesses and organizations, each of which will be featuring an Olympics-themed activity. Once your passport has all eight stamps, stop by the Chamber of Commerce booth to be entered in a raffle for gift certificates to local businesses.
The following businesses will be offering games, trivia, and more, and stamping passports for participants:
- Big Fin Poké
- Buckalew's General Store
- Linda O' & Alison Group of Leading Edge Real Estate
- Melrose Knights of Columbus
- Molly's Bookstore
- Rising Eagle Publick House
- the beauty cafe
- Lilah Rose
YMCA members can take advantage of Kids’ Night Out for children ages 4 and up, where kids can enjoy pizza, crafts, and sports at the YMCA while their parents enjoy the Stroll.
The Ride Cafe and the Melrose Pedestrian and Bicyclist Committee will be offering bike valet services for anyone who bikes to Main Street.
The entertainment includes the following Melrose-based or connected acts:
- The Gravel Project, which performs a mix of rock, world music, and jazz
