Summer Stroll Brings Crowds to Main Street
The Summer Stroll, a beloved Melrose event now in its 11th year, brought crowds of people out to Main Street on Friday night to dine, listen to music, and have fun.
Main Street was closed to traffic during the event. Nearly every eatery on Main Street had tables and chairs set out on the sidewalk for patrons to enjoy the beautiful evening. Buckalew's was serving pulled pork and Italian ice, and the La Qchara food truck was parked near City Hall. And four different tents provided stages for performers to regale the crowds with different styles of music, and even a dancing flash mob!
The evening coincided with the Opening Ceremonies of the Paris Olympics, so many businesses offered Olympics-themed activities. Kids could be seen tossing rings onto cones in front of Lilah Rose. Cornhole boards were out in front of several businesses. And there were plenty of Olympics-themed photo opportunities.
All in all, this year's Summer Stroll provided Melrosians of all ages the opportunity to come together and enjoy a lovely evening together as a community.
