Giacomo’s and Melrose Chamber of Commerce Present: Guest Bartending Night in Support of the Melrose Creative Alliance and Breast Cancer Awareness

Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening of creativity, community, and cocktails! On Monday, October 21st, Giacomo’s of Melrose is thrilled to host Guest Bartending Night in collaboration with the Melrose Chamber of Commerce and Melrose Creative Alliance. This exciting event will take place in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a portion of the evening’s proceeds benefiting breast cancer support organizations.
“We firmly believe in giving back to the community, and this is one fun way to do it,” says owner Richie Talieri. “We host these guest bartending events monthly and invite a local non-profit to share their mission with the community while raising money to support their cause.”
The night will feature Melrose’s own Sam Hammar, a passionate community member and recent breast cancer warrior, behind the bar. “My breast cancer was caught on a routine mammogram in February. This year has been an incredibly difficult journey, but I wouldn’t be feeling as positive as I do without the support of other survivors and the community spirit of Melrose,” says Hammar. “If this event encourages more people to get their routine cancer screening, we’ve done what we set out to do.” Sam will be shaking up specialty drinks as the guest bartender, bringing her energy and enthusiasm to support this important cause.
In true collaborative spirit, Melrose Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Stephanie Nelson, works with the partner organizations for these evenings. “The Melrose Creative Alliance is a perfect beneficiary for a night at Giacomo’s. Their mission is to connect Melrosians across the arts and cultural landscape, providing resources to empower a vibrant creative community, and showcase the best of Melrose for economic opportunity for all of our small businesses.” A portion of the night’s proceeds will also benefit breast cancer support organizations.
