Last Thursday marked the return of the Melrose Farmers’ Market for the season - and the return of many Melrosians’ favorite weekly community gathering.

Every Thursday from 2:30 to 6:30pm (note the later times this year), Bowden Park (by the Cedar Park commuter rail station) will be filled with fresh produce, delicious prepared foods, artisan goods, art projects, live music, and children playing.

The lineup of vendors changes each week, and you can see each week’s schedule on the Farmers’ Market website. One new addition this year is Follow Your Art will be offering free biweekly Art at the Market workshops. Attendees can sign up for slots for this week’s activity - No Peek Contour Drawing - here.

The Farmers’ Market will also be holding its annual Urban Garden Tour fundraiser this weekend. Get your tickets here, and drop by Cedar Park on Saturday morning between 8:30am and 11am for the pre-tour gathering and plant sale.

The fundraiser supports the Farmers’ Market’s SNAP match program, where families and individuals who receive SNAP benefits can receive a match of up to $10 per family per week. The Melrose Farmers’ Market is currently looking for community support to help expand that match to $15, allowing neighbors in need to purchase more as costs continue to rise.

See you at the Farmers’ Market this summer!
